Our Programs (HCS and ICF)

We are proud to provide families and individuals across Texas with two highly trusted assisted living programs—Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) and Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IID).

No matter which program your loved one qualifies for, our dedicated team of professionals and caregivers is here to guide you through every step of the process. From finding the perfect home to ensuring a seamless and stress-free transition, we are committed to meeting your family’s unique needs. Both of our programs are built on a foundation of encouragement, respect, empowerment, and genuine care to help individuals with IDD thrive in their daily lives.

Your loved one may already qualify for at least one of these programs.

HCS – Home and Community-Based Services

The HCS program offers:

  • 3- and 4-person group homes
  • Comprehensive day programs, including transportation and employment services
  • Access to medical and professional services such as nursing, dental, and physician care
  • Professional therapies tailored to individual needs
  • Adaptive aids and minor home modifications
  • Additional support services covered under the HCS program

The HCS program maintains a state-managed waiting list known as the “interest list.” For individuals with intellectual disabilities in Texas, this program is often considered the best long-term support option.

ICF/IID – Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities

The ICF/IID program includes:

  • 6-person group homes
  • Quality day services, including transportation and employment opportunities
  • Medical and professional care, including nursing, dental, and physician services
  • Tailored therapy support

For those eligible for Medicaid, the ICF program provides access to adaptive equipment through a Medicaid Managed Care Plan. ICF services are available immediately to individuals with active Medicaid benefits and an official diagnosis of an intellectual disability or a related condition, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder or traumatic brain injury, without the need to join a waiting list.

Transitioning Between Programs

Choosing ICF services now does not impact your loved one’s position on the HCS waiting list. This means they can enjoy immediate support through the ICF program while remaining in line for HCS services. Many individuals who are currently benefiting from HCS services first began with ICF programs, ensuring continuous support without disruption.
